Description Alvarez & Marsal is looking for a dynamic Energy Operations Consultant (Manager or Director) to join our firm, specializing in the energy sector. The ideal candidate will have a blend of hands-on industry experience and a strong understanding of business operations, combined with leadership and consulting expertise. A&M works with clients to deliver operational, consulting, and industry expertise to management and investors seeking to accelerate performance, overcome challenges and maximize value.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage consulting projects with a focus on energy operations, including drilling, reservoir management, logging, and downhole operations.
- Leverage industry experience to provide strategic guidance to clients on operational improvements, cost management, and technology utilization.
- Engage with clients at various levels, from technical to executive, providing actionable insights and helping them achieve their business goals.
- Own product lines, ensuring revenue growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction through the successful delivery of services.
- Deliver tailored solutions that align with the client's long-term objectives, particularly in the areas of P&L ownership, supply chain, safety, corporate governance, and financial management.
- Mentor and develop junior consultants, guiding them on both the technical and business aspects of energy consulting.
- Provide clients with a business-focused lens while also understanding the technical intricacies of the energy sector.
Qualifications:
- 6-15 years of industry experience in energy, with roles ranging from field engineer to operations director, product manager, and technical director.
- Proven leadership experience, managing teams and full P&L ownership.
- Strong understanding of technology development and operations in the energy industry.
- Ability to engage with clients and lead consulting teams through complex projects.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts in a business context.
- Prior consulting experience is a plus but not required; however, strong operational and leadership experience in the energy sector is essential.
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, engineering, finance, economics preferred; Executive MBA , ideally with a focus on energy is a plus.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills (MS Excel, MS Visio, MS PowerPoint).
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment.
- Comfortable with travel.
The salary range for Manager is $125,000-$190,000 annually and Director is $150,000-$225,000 annually , dependent on several variables including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography. In addition, A&M offers a discretionary bonus program which is based on a number of factors, including individual and firm performance. Please ask your recruiter for details.
