CMA is hiring an entry level or early career Engineer for our Aviation and Transportation Water Resources group. Candidates should be able to efficiently plan and organize their workload with their team, demonstrate success working with a team of professionals, a commitment to quality, good communication skills, and a positive work ethic.
Responsibilities:- Candidate shall work on various aspects of civil engineering design, plan preparation, and permitting while working in a project team environment.
- Candidate would contribute to projects including collecting existing permit data, performing site investigations, creating, and analyzing a variety of hydrologic and hydraulic models, site grading, drainage analysis, erosion control, as well as completion of environmental and stormwater permitting efforts.
- Prepare project design drawings within MicroStation OpenRoads and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Develop project specific detail drawings.
- Calculate project construction quantity estimates.
- Assist with technical specifications, cost estimates, drainage reports, schedules, and other related tasks.
- Learn and adhere to client-specific standards.
- Coordinate with team members and client representatives.
- Periodic travel to project sites for field investigation and or construction support.
- Interface with multi-disciplinary design teams.
Qualifications:- Must possess a bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering.
- a master's degree is a plus.
- 0 - 2 years of experience working for a firm in the A/E/C industry.
- Engineer-In-Training (EI) designation is preferred. The expectation is that such candidate would be working towards becoming a Professional Engineer (P.E.)
- Excellent technical writing skills
- Outstanding organizational skills
- Strong sense of urgency, project responsibility and initiative
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of FDOT, NCDOT, and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) standards.
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation/OpenRoads is preferred.
- Knowledge of design software such as Stormwise (formerly ICPR), HY-8, HEC-RAS, Geopak Drainage, OpenRoads Drainage and Utilities, AutoDesk Storm and Sanitary Analysis, and ArcGIS is a plus.
- Ability to quickly learn and apply complex systems.
