Description
Location: San Ramon, CA. Other office locations, such as Oakland or Santa Clara, may be approved, depending on seniority and level of mentorship needed.

The position duties described below can be expected to increase in complexity and responsibility based on the level of experience you have. Similarly, the pay range is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Position Summary: ENGEO is seeking a candidate that is passionate about water resources / hydrology and interested in working on dynamic, technically challenging projects. Our water resources engineers fully embrace ENGEO's culture of continuous learning and can-do spirit. With guidance from ENGEO's talented staff, you will perform a variety of professional engineering work related to water resources, hydrology, flood control, water quality, and erosion control. You will be encouraged and supported to grow personally and professionally through mentorships and other learning opportunities.
Primary Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Perform surface water hydrology and hydraulic analyses, sediment transport analyses, and groundwater flow analyses to support water resources projects.
- Design flood detention and water quality facilities, open channels / stormwater conveyance systems, storm drain outfalls, scour protection measures, creek / riverbank improvements, and groundwater wells.
- Assist in the preparation of concept-level figures and construction-level drawings and specifications.
- Prepare and implement stormwater pollution prevention plans (SWPPP) and stormwater management plans (SWMP) for sites across California.
- Conduct and/or oversee water resources-related field studies including weather station installation, stream flow gauging, water quality sampling, creek condition assessments, and site inspections.
- Prepare written reports and key project deliverables, such as technical memos, reports, proposals, and change orders.
- Effectively communicate and collaborate with project stakeholders (clients, subcontractors, regulatory agencies, etc.) and internal teammates.
- Collaborate with ENGEO's geotechnical engineers, environmental engineers, and geologists on projects where there is an intersection with water resources (e.g., levee design and seepage analyses, contaminant plume transport studies, infiltration / percolation testing, etc.)
- Perform other duties as needed.

Requirements
Required/Minimum Qualifications - B.S. or M.S. degree in Civil, Agricultural, or Environmental Engineering from an ABET accredited program
- 1 to 7+ years of related work experience (early to mid-career)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Products
- Team player who enjoys problem-solving and fast-paced environments
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

- Desire to continually learn and grow
- Personal vehicle for driving onto jobsites
Preferred/Additional Qualifications - Licensed PE in the State of California
- Proficient in HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, MODFLOW, GIS, and AutoCAD
- Experience with project management and consulting
- Familiar with the construction industry and project development phases
- Strong understanding of local, California, and Federal environmental regulatory framework and permitting requirements related to water resources
- Experience with project scoping and business development
- Ability to mentor and develop junior staff

Salary Description Approximately $70,000 - $130,000 annually, depending on experience level, skill set, and other considerations.
