JOB SUMMARY:The Sustainability and Compliance Specialist II is responsible for supporting and executing sustainability and environmental initiatives for American Textile Company. This role will assist in meeting compliance and sustainability reporting requirements, including surveys, assessments, and audits across all ATC facilities and retail partners. In addition, this individual participates in preparing facilities for retail audits and assists in all major compliance audits and factory assessments, which include, but are not limited to, sustainability and environmental factors.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:Sustainability/Environmental/Compliance- Coordinates and supports sustainability programs and projects.
- Gathers data for reporting to appropriate authorities or agencies.
- Engages with teams across ATC to understand customer-specific sustainability requirements.
- Assists with Higg FEM (Facility Environmental Module) data collection and program management.
- Tracks and assists with multiple sustainability submissions, including Higg FEM, Higg vFEM audits, Walmart/Target/Costco CDP, Walmart Gigaton Project, Costco Insight System Thesis, etc.
- Assists with Higg vFEM audit preparation and participates in validation audits.
- Tracks recycling and waste management, including hazardous waste programs.
- Creates and implements a Propane tracking system for all ATC facilities.
- Analyzes and tracks utilities for all locations, identifying opportunities to reduce utility expenses and impact.
- Prepares environmental documentation for social compliance audits.
Compliance Reporting- Assists in preparing and submitting required compliance reports.
- Gathers data to support audit preparation for Quality Control Factory Assessments and Social Compliance Audits for all facilities. ( i.e. Target FA, Costco GMP, Smeta Sedex Social Compliance, JCP FA, JCP SA, Amazon FQA, etc.)
- Participates in all major compliance and factory assessments across all facilities.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:- Associate's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Compliance, or a related field is preferred; equivalent cumulative work experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
- Minimum of 2+ years of relevant work experience is required
- Familiarity with sustainability reporting frameworks (e.g., GRI, CDP) is a plus
- Strong interest in environmental sustainability and corporate compliance
- Basic understanding of environmental regulations and sustainability principles
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Good math skills
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:- Able to occasionally carry, push or pull objects weighing up to and including 35 pounds
