Our Environmental Services team is looking for a driven project manager and mid-career scientist to support our broad range of projects, including projects in energy (renewables, alternative fuels, oil and gas), power (electrification and transmission), land development, industrial, and public infrastructure development. The ideal candidate would have 7 or more years of experience in environmental consulting or a similar industry, at least 4 years of experience managing projects, and be willing to act as a seller-doer to support continued growth of our team.
Job Description: - Lead multiple project teams across simultaneous assignments for both private and public clients across multiple sectors.
- Manage the quality, timeliness, and financial success of projects.
- Lead, manage, and conduct environmental studies and investigations, such as wetland delineations, threatened and endangered species habitat assessments and surveys, and Environmental Site Assessments, to support the development of projects in various industries and markets.
- Communicate scientific, technical, and regulatory information and guidance to the project team, clients, and resource agencies through written reports, presentations, and/or permit applications using a thoughtful blend of business and technical writing.
- Review environmental data, reports, permits, and related materials for compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements and advise clients accordingly.
- Assist clients with permit coordination, acquisition, compliance, and coordination with regulatory agencies.
- Partner with senior staff in maintaining and developing client relationships.
- Supervise and mentor scientists, planners, and technicians.
Requirements:- Bachelor's degree in environmental science, biology, ecology, rangeland science, wildlife management, or related field
- 7+ years field experience with focus on aquatic resources, protected species, Environmental Site Assessments, ecological sampling, and/or related resources.
- Working knowledge of and experience with obtaining clearance and/or conducting reviews under various Acts, some of which may include the National Environmental Policy Act, Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, Migratory Bird Treaty Act, Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act, National Historic Preservation Act, and various state and local regulations.
- Experience with client relationship building and articulating regulatory and market needs for projects.
- Advanced organizational and business-technical writing skills.
- Effective time-management, written communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- Professional attitude and good decision-making skills.
- Ability to work effectively in team situations and establish strong relationships with other teams, both internal and external.
- Proficient with MS Office (e.g., Word, Excel), Adobe.
- Must be able to lead fieldwork and occasionally conduct fieldwork.
