Seeking a skilled Environmental Design Engineer for an opening with our engineering client. In this role, you will design water and wastewater treatment systems and lead environmental remediation projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in water treatment process design and a strong understanding of industrial processes like manufacturing, food production, and petrochemical manufacturing.
Responsibilities - Design water and wastewater systems, including piping, pumps, flow control, and treatment systems.
- Select and design physical and biological treatment processes, such as chemical precipitation, filtration, and biological technologies.
- Create process flow diagrams (PFDs), water balance diagrams, and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
- Assist in preparing plans, specifications, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Provide oversight and mentoring to junior staff on project tasks.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and deliverables.
- Build strong relationships with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
- Travel to client sites as needed.
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Civil/Environmental, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering.
- 7+ years of experience in environmental engineering, with a focus on water/wastewater design.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or working towards obtaining it within 2 years.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of Civil 3D or HydroCAD is a plus.
- Excellent communication and client relationship management skills.
- 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification is a plus.
