DescriptionThis position is for an experienced Process Improvement chemical engineer in the Polymers Process Development group within the Plastics & Circularity Development Division (PCDD) in Technology. This role will be supporting the polymers area with a focus on driving various initiatives related to circularity and new product development.
Responsibilities - RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT - Drive process improvement in a manufacturing environment while maintaining all applicable safety, regulatory, change management, and environmental compliance requirements.
- MANUFACTURING SUPPORT - Provide timely assistance to manufacturing to resolve production processing problems, support cost savings initiatives, and advance safety programs.
- SAFETY - Demonstrate safety leadership.
- COLLABORATION - Partner with colleagues as part of cross-functional teams including technology, manufacturing, businesses, HSES, Engineering and other functions to drive process improvement, growth programs and business initiatives.
- PROFESSIONAL GROWTH - Enhance professional growth and technical awareness by keeping abreast of technical literature in the field and pursuing relevant training while developing areas of interest and expertise.
- COMMUNICATION - Provide timely communications to management and project stakeholders by communicating project needs, value, priorities and decisions to ensure project success.
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree (B. S.) or higher in Chemical Engineering from an accredited college or university required.
- Five (5) or more years of experience in a chemical plant manufacturing environment required.
- The candidate is expected to demonstrate the functional and technical knowledge and skills to do the job at a high level of accomplishment; solve difficult problems and work well with others. The candidate will be expected to both lead and serve on team projects.
- Must be dedicated to meeting expectations of internal and external customers; practice active listening, speak clearly and concisely, write clearly and concisely; make decisions based on a mixture of analysis, experience, and judgment and set objectives and goals independently
- Familiarity with industrial plant environments and equipment is required.
- Exhibit good leadership attitudes and behaviors.
- Must be a self-starter with a focus on results. Ability to lead and drive challenging projects forward despite uncertainties.
- Excellent written, listening, and verbal communication skills.
