Job DescriptionThe Environmental Manager will be responsible for planning, execution and compliance with environmental programs in North Carolina; auditing and compliance related reporting and tasks in Lumber Bridge and manages wastewater engineering project in Siler City and Lumber Bridge. This position manages and provides direction and support to the Wastewater Managers in Siler City and Lumber Bridge.
Duties/Activities Required by Job - Oversee wastewater operations and engineering projects for Lumber Bridge and Siler City including but not limited to compliance, internal/external (Regulatory) reporting, annual operating budget, staffing, vendors, contracts, parts, supplies, maintenance and preventive maintenance.
- Managing environmental/wastewater projects, complete internal/external assessments, sampling and reporting to maintain compliance with Federal, Sate and local regulations. Manage engineering projects, provide technical support and direction.
- Manages and conducts environmental auditing in Lumber Bridge, document findings, report findings to Director, implements corrective actions when necessary and proposes solutions when necessary. Auditing Participating in regulatory visits and communication regarding new or existing permits
- Provides direction and support to the wastewater staff and environmental auditor to achieve operational and safety goals. Monitoring compliance of conduct any required environmental training annually or as needed. Keep current with changing regulations/technologies across the country.
- Enforcing policies and procedures for the general operation of the business unit's compliance programs.
Educations/Experience Requirements - BS in Environmental Science or related field
- 7 yrs. with 5 yrs. progressive environmental/waste water/engineering experience
- North Carolina Wastewater license (Spray, Biological or Physical/Chemical) one required, preference for all three.
