Job DescriptionNew York City Health and Hospital is committed to implementing energy management best practices across its building portfolio to help meet the City's LL97 GHG emissions reduction targets, including 40x25, 50x30, and 80x50. To support these goals, H+H seeks to hire an Associate Energy Project Manager (Grant Funded) to serve within our Decarbonization Program. The Associate Energy Project Manager (Grant Funded) will report to the Deputy Director of Energy Management and will be responsible for implementing a diverse project portfolio, including but not limited to small to medium sized energy efficiency and retro-commissioning (retro-cx) projects, energy studies, and operations and maintenance measures across H+H's facilities.
Under the guidance and supervision of the Deputy Director of Energy Management, the Associate Energy Project Manager's responsibilities will include the following:
• Support project development: Work with the energy analyst to respond to energy use and cost data requests. Coordinate with energy project manager and facility staff, necessary meetings and/or walk-throughs. Work to secure building system information and related drawings as requested by vendors and contractors. Track receipt of and store design reports and related packaged deliverables. Ensure that all submittals, meeting minutes, RFIs, and related review comments are shared, addressed and stored for record. Support the drafting of funding and budget approval documents such as ACE/CPI applications, CP registrations and amendments and Board presentations.
• Support project delivery: Work closely with the energy project manager, facility staff, consultants and contractors to assist with the implementation of the capital energy project portfolio. Track project is progressing according to the proposed construction timeline and report on any schedule delays and deviations. Ensure that all submittals, meeting minutes, RFIs, and related review comments are shared, addressed and stored for record. Secure all invoice and change order back up documentation and assist the energy project manager with tracking receipt of related deliverable or milestone completion.
• Perform site visits throughout the project implementation process: Conduct frequent field visits; verifying existing conditions and validating work completed complies with scopes and schedules set forth in the contract documents. Ensure all punch list items are addressed for final inspection and project close-out.
• Tracking energy/GHG emissions metrics: Update the estimated energy use, energy savings, utility cost savings and related GHG emissions impacts in the project tracker as well as the facility energy/emissions baseline tracker with the actual reductions as energy projects come online. Help prepare applications for utility and federal incentive programs.
• Performing project tracking and reporting: Maintain project folders and store project-related documentation, including work orders, scopes of work, cost proposals, invoices, project status sheets, and progress reports. Perform data collection and tracking necessary to ensure accurate, on-demand project reporting in a range of areas, including compliance with project schedules and progress updates.
• Liaising with various stakeholders: Assist the Energy Project Manager in collaborating amongst facilities management teams, consultants, and contractors during energy project design and implementation.
• Supporting project measurement and verification ("M&V"): Furnish energy and project related data to help develop and implement M&V plans consistent with the International Performance Measurement and Verification Protocol.
• Providing other necessary support to the H+H Corporate Energy Office: Contribute to the other initiatives being advanced by the H+H Corporate Energy Office as needed.
Minimum Qualifications1. A baccalaureate degree in engineering, architecture, landscape architecture, business administration or public administration from an accredited college or university; and one year of full-time satisfactory experience in project management work, such as planning, administrating, managing, coordinating or expediting for engineering and/or architectural and/or landscape architectural projects; or
2. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and five years of experience as described in "1" above; or
3. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent plus any combination of the experience and/or college education as described in "1" above to make up the equivalent of five years of education and experience. One year of credit will be given for each 30 semester credits of college education leading to a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in engineering, architecture, landscape architecture, business administration or in public administration.

1. Experience which is primarily of a design nature is not acceptable towards meeting the minimum requirements.
Department PreferencesPreference will be given to qualified candidates with the following knowledge, abilities, education, experience and/or skills:
Preferred Certifications: Cert. Energy Auditor (CEA), Cert. Energy Manager (CEM), Certified Building Commissioning Professional (CBCP), PMP
Educational Level: A bachelor's degree in facilities management, engineering, architecture, energy management construction project management or a related field.
Years of Experience: At least One year of experience in supporting facility projects/building system upgrades and/or energy mgmt. and analyzing energy efficiency opportunities
Knowledgeable in:
- Understanding of building energy systems and energy efficiency technologies.
- Familiarity with various types of HVAC systems, including boilers, chillers, air handling units, rooftop units, building automation system; air steam and chilled water distribution systems; and any other type of heating and cooling applications.
- Familiarity with project management tasks and phases, including project planning, scope development, design and construction management, and project close-out.
- Knowledge of ASHRAE Energy standards, and familiarity with NYC energy, mechanical and electrical codes.
- Knowledge of energy costs and billing, energy savings calculation methodologies, and emissions calculations methodologies.
- Commitment to customer service and demonstrated ability to effectively manage simultaneous projects.
- High level of productivity: able to meet and even exceed deadlines.
- Managing program operations and budgets.
- Problem-solving skills
Equipment/Machines Operated: Thermal imaging camera, light meter etc.
Computer Program/Software Operated: Basic experience with Microsoft software products such as Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint and other Windows products as required.
