Obtain and maintain EPA certification as a Lead-Based Paint Risk Assessor. Conduct investigations and lead risk assessments in homes and other locations associated with elevated blood lead levels in children. Write summary reports for environmental assessments and clearly communicate with property owners and residents. Update and maintain cases in DPH's electronic surveillance system. Work as an effective team member with other risk assessors, public health nurses, attorneys, and other staff as needed. Location of headquarters may be changed to meet program needs.
Minimum and Additional RequirementsState Minimum Requirements: Some positions require the possession of a valid driver's license. Some positions require the successful completion of specialized courses in health physics or certification as a health physicist. A high school diploma and experience in environmental health programs or radiological health. A bachelor's degree in the natural or physical sciences, mathematics, public health, engineering or a related technical field may be substituted for the required work experience.
Institutions of Higher Learning must be recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.Agency Additional Requirements: This position requires the successful completion of prescribed technical coursework and passing any test relevant to the position, including becoming certified as an EPA Lead Risk Assessor, within the probationary period or trial period.

Preferred Qualifications This position requires the possession of a valid driver's license.
