What we're looking for: Nexamp is seeking to hire a Manager, Project Engineering to join our Project Engineering team. You will perform engineering and project support tasks for commercial, DG, and utility-scale photovoltaic systems and energy storage systems. The Project Engineering team is at the center of the design and engineering activities for Nexamp projects, ensuring that the work of the different disciplines are tightly coordinated, and driving system-level optimization of project economics.
We are accepting candidates across our offices of Boston, Chicago, or Washington DC where you will be hybrid. You will report to the Director, Project Engineering.
What you'll do: - Responsible for Project Engineering Team success in designated region of the United States.
- Lead a team of engineers to deliver optimized design and engineering packages to meet the requirements of project schedules. Make decisions on portfolio-level tradeoffs to minimize LCOE and achieve project objectives.
- Coordinate with peer Engineering Managers to allocate engineering resources and maintain business continuity. Optimize workflows between the Project Engineering team and the Design team.
- Work with Nexamp Development team to refine development engineering processes. Refine processes to minimize project risk at NTP.
- Work with Nexamp Deployment (Construction) team from NTP to Substantial Completion to maximize project margin through process innovation.
- Review and approve drawings sets and energy models for development, permitting, construction, and record design phases for solar power plants utilizing AutoCAD, PVCase, Helioscope, and PVSYST software.
- Review and approve equipment drawings and specifications for procurement. Review project drawings for constructability and code-compliance (NEC, IBC, and other applicable codes)
- Perform value engineering to optimize project economic and technical profile
- Support training and mentoring of engineering department personnel, development of engineering standards and SOPs, and development of cross-departmental workflows
- Maintain relationships with engineering consultants, product testing labs, equipment vendors, and engineering code enforcement officers relevant to your regional coverage.
- Represent Nexamp Engineering in engagements with external parties such as land/building owners on BTM projects.
- Determine innovative advancements to standard process. Anticipate the impact of product and process innovation on existing workflows.
- Perform site visits for project assessment and feasibility
- Additional duties as assigned and/or directed
What you'll bring:- 5+ years of experience working on a multi-disciplinary engineering environment, preferably renewable energy generation.
- 2+ years of PV design engineering experience preferred
- 1+ years of engineering management experience preferred
- Degree in engineering or equivalent educational/certification background; concentration in power engineering or structural engineering preferred
- AutoCAD software proficiency
- PVSYST software proficiency preferred
- EIT required
- PVCase software proficiency preferred
- Strong knowledge of industry standard design codes such as National Electric Code, International Building Code, International Fire Code and other standards relevant to the industry
- Strong knowledge of electrical principles
- Strong knowledge of medium voltage distribution and protection system principles
- Ability to manage a small team as well as work independently
- Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects and tasks
- NABCEP Solar certification required

Compensation: The reasonably estimated salary for this role at Nexamp ranges from $130,000 - $150,000. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual bonus programs based on individual and company performance, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans). Additionally, you may be eligible to participate in the Company's stock option plan. Actual base salary may vary based upon, but is not limited to, skills and qualifications, internal equity, performance, and geographic location.
