Deposit Operations aids in the bank's overarching mission by ensuring that we can extract the greatest value from the bank's core and payments systems in an efficient, sustainable and sound manner. The Head of Deposit operations leads the bank's process automation efforts to reduce processing time and improve adoption of emerging functions of the core.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Oversee key operations functions including payments systems administration, core systems control, deposit quality assurance, control and remediation, and general deposit system administration.
- Oversee digital payment channels such as ACH, Wires, FED NOW and others to ensure that all payments (and any subsequent disputes) are processed in a compliant manner- and that inherent risks are properly mitigated.
- Ensure that the bank's core and related systems are configured in line with business requirements, ensures that accounts are properly set up within these parameters and that peripheral systems are properly interfacing with the core.
- Maintain an active working knowledge of new and emerging core features that help in the furtherance of the bank's mission, push for internal adoption of emerging solutions and push on vendors to develop their solutions to deliver on business line requirements.
- Oversee quality control functions- validating that account openings, closings and transactions are processed within the bank's defined processes and will take action to remedy inconsistencies.
- Serve as the bank's Core System (FIS) contact; head up monthly meetings with FIS customer service rep, negotiate system purchases and upgrades, approve all projects, manage FIS bulletins, escalation point for any critical FIS issues, attend user group meetings.
- Manage operational policies, procedures and controls.
- Maintain bank disclosures and forms.
- Department and FIS budget management.
- Serve as the lead for operational audits and subject matter expert in other department audits such as IT.
- Management reporting, metrics.
- Operations BCP management.
- Backup Team Leads.
- Perform any other duties as requested.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of ten years' operational experience.
- Solid background in bank operations, including retail, back office, cash management and fraud.
- Excellent communication skills, knowledge of word and excel applications.
- College degree preferred and/or similar work experience within the banking industry.
