In this role, you'll provide technical support and advice on Public Open Space Management. Plan and manage park maintenance to ensure the highest horticultural standards. Assist the Parks Coordinators in the provision of leadership and support for the section. And uphold and consistently demonstrate the City's values of Respect, Integrity, Customer Service and Teamwork.
The key responsibilities of this role:
- Park Maintenance/management - to develop and implement effective strategies to provide professional horticultural management. Assisting the Coordinator to prepare, supervise and control technical maintenance programs for the City's public open spaces. Regularly review, develop and update technical specifications, safety procedures and work practices to improve efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery.
- Supervision/Contract administration - Assisting the Coordinator in the provision of leadership, direction, guidance and support to the section. Offering support in the coordination and implementation of projects of the park's capital improvements program a part of the management team as required.
- A proven level of exceptional ability in administration, including planning, prioritising, recording, and achieving successful outcomes to deadlines.
- Highly developed and proven interpersonal, communication and influencing skills.
- Demonstrated ability to establish, develop and maintain new systems, strategies and procedures.
- Supervisory ability that includes contracts and budget management.
- Advanced ability to use corporate computer systems.
- Relevant tertiary level qualifications in horticulture, sports turf management and/or relevant work experience.
- Current C class WA drivers' licence or higher.
- Chainsaw certification.
- Basic Traffic Management certification.
- Senior First Aid.

Salary Range: $91,880 - $99,230 per annum plus 11.5% employer superannuation and additional co-contribution to your superannuation.
