By facilitating technical assistance, mutually beneficial linkages, and access to information, technologies, and markets, we address constraints to food systems; strengthen inclusive market systems; promote sustainable management of natural resources; improve agricultural production in response to market demand; expand opportunities for smallholder farmers; and strengthen agribusinesses. Through our efforts, we create rural jobs and increase incomes while strengthening resilience to shocks and improving food security and nutrition.
We are currently recruiting an Associate to support the Agriculture-led Growth Practice Area. Reporting to the Senior Manager in the Agriculture-led Growth Practice Area, the Associate will have operational responsibilities related to the implementation of existing agricultural development programs and will support new business efforts. It is anticipated that the Program Associate may be required to travel to field office locations to support start-up, implementation, and/or program close-out.
This position is based in the Washington, DC home office of IESC, with flexible working arrangements, and is a full-time (40 hours per week) position. We will be interviewing qualified candidates on a rolling basis as applications are received.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Provide support for day-to-day project operations.
- Support field office team with all operational and technical requests.
- Assist with startup and closeout activities for projects, which may include travel to field offices.
- Manage project documentation including reports, and financials and maintain files in SharePoint.
- Support the preparation and revisions of high quality quarterly, semi-annual, annual and final reports; annual workplans; success stories; and other program deliverables.
- Provide support for project sub partners and consultants, monitor monthly invoices and issue contract modifications, as necessary.
- Support the monitoring of project expenditures and projections.
- Review and reconcile monthly expense reports from the field offices and expense reports and ensure compliance with IESC policies and U.S. government and USAID regulations.
- Update and manage the recording of project property.
- Coordinate review and revision of project manuals on annual schedule.
- Support development and management of startup and closeout plans.
- Attend industry events related to the subject matter or region of a project to network and learn information that could be valuable to program activities in the Agriculture-led Growth Practice Area.
- Support new business efforts, including cost data collection, budget, and cost narrative development.
- Other tasks as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor's degree with 1 to 2 years of related experience.
- Previous international work experience preferred.
- Experience with financial and operational management.
- Interest in international economic development, particularly in the agriculture-sector.
- Self-starter, detail-oriented, thorough, and well organized with the ability to prioritize among competing requests.
- Effective communication skills and cross-cultural competency.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.

The salary range for this position is $55,000 to $57,000. IESC has developed a salary range based on market survey data. New employee salaries are typically established within this range based on qualifications, internal equity and the amount budgeted for this role.
