Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager.WHAT YOU WILL DO: The Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager will develop, implement and oversee EHS operations throughout the manufacturing division with the goal of creating and maintaining a safe and healthful workplace.
- Develop, implement and improve Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) programs and processes including emergency preparedness and fire protection, safety risk assessments and safe working procedures for non-office activities, material waste management, training, ergonomics, contractor safety, and crisis management
- Provide status updates and recommendations to senior management on program and policy development for health, safety and environmental compliance programs
- Investigate accidents, injuries/illnesses, near-misses and environmental incidents
- Manage and direct division in achieving EHS targets and objectives
- Identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices and develop hazard control practices and programs
- Conducting risk assessments
- Monitor and inspect employees for compliance with PPE and other regulations
- Coordinate with Human Resources to maintain EHS 300 log and/or OSHA Form 300
- Implement environmental, health and safety education and training to support regulatory and business requirements
- Facilitates and supports company policies.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
ABOUT YOU:- 3-7 years of experience with an emphasis in health and safety management or experience in a technical environment requiring adherence to strong health and safety practices
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Safety, Life Sciences, Engineering or related degree preferred
- Professional certification desired (Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Auditor)
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS ABILITIES AND OTHER CONTRIBUTIONS:- General knowledge of related disciplines including engineering, supply chain, business development, quality, and manufacturing.
- Ability to identify and implement best practices and continual performance measurement.
- Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to apply advanced negotiation skills to solve internal, external and customer issues.
- Knowledge of manufacturing standards, systems, processes, and procedures.
