Green Building Specialist

Salary Range: $70,000.00 To 90,000.00 Annually
The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) is a global, nonprofit organization based in Washington, D.C., working to improve human health, sustainability and resilience in the built environment through its programs and standards including LEED, the most widely used green building rating system in the world.
Green Business Certification Inc. (GBCI) is responsible for global delivery and quality oversight of green building and green business sustainability standards. Its integrated team administers credentials and certifications for the U.S. Green Building Council (LEED), the International WELL Building Institute (WELL Building Standard), and other sustainability standards.
Customer Support addresses over 60,000 inquiries a year submitted by stakeholders via email and inbound phone inquiries. The Technical Customer Support (TCS) team provides customized and technical support for complex inquiries related to USGBC/GBCI products and services.
The Technical Customer Support team members serve as subject matter experts on various topics and processes, maintaining a suite of resources that provide consistent and high-quality issue resolution.
The Certification group is seeking a subject matter expert with in-depth experience with the LEED Certification process to provide stakeholders with accurate and high-quality support and engagement.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Collaborate with internal teams to address stakeholder needs and develop resolutions.
- Contribute to customer support goals by meeting and exceeding case resolution targets.
- Improve the customer experience by anticipating their needs and directing them to available resources.
- Serve as the voice of the customer, providing input on USGBC and GBCI initiatives.
- Provide critical insights into the customer experience and build relationships with other experts.
- Contribute to special projects as needed.
- Use your sustainability expertise and professional writing skills to craft expert guidance.
- Document, track and manage the complete lifecycle of customer inquiries and resolutions.
What You Need To Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field such as sustainability, architecture, or environmental science.
- A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a client-facing role related to green design.
- Current USGBC or GBCI credential or a commitment to earn one within the first year of employment.
- Experience with LEED project applications and familiarity with LEED Online and/or Arc.
- Strong written communication skills to clearly convey technical information.
- Empathetic problem-solving and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to create and follow internal SOPs.
- Attention to detail and familiarity with Salesforce or other CRM platforms.

Details:

- Location: Remote, or 2101 L Street NW, Washington, DC
- Hours: Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:30 pm EST, 40 hours per week
- Travel: 0-5%, upon request and approval
