Job DescriptionLandscape Architect, Campus PlanningHere is a glimpse of the job:Join our team under the supervision of the University Architect. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Integrated Development: Ensure new developments and changes align with Texas A&M University's Campus Master Plan.
- Project Design: Lead the conceptual design and development of smaller non-capital landscape architecture projects.
- Project Management: Oversees and tracks project development to ensure adherence to TAMU Architectural & Landscape Design Standards, TAMU Tree Protection Procedures, TAMUS Facility Design Guidelines, the Campus Master Plan, and all relevant codes and industry standards.
- Campus Aesthetics: Maintain visually pleasing, environmentally friendly, and durable campus grounds.
- Campus Standards and reports: Provides research and analysis, interprets data, and synthesizes recommendations. Develops and maintains landscaping and tree protection guidelines, ensuring climate-appropriate, low-maintenance plants and trees. Regularly updates hardscape and ground plane standards. Produces reports, presentation materials, graphics, and maps. Tracks and reports on campus landscape projects, ensuring compliance and implementation.
- Coordination: Oversee landscape design and construction activities, collaborating with campus representatives, project design professionals, outsourced grounds personnel, and TAMU System FP&C staff.
Who we areThe Office of the University Architect leads the planning, design, and construction changes on campus. We provide project scope and definition, support the creation of memorable architecture, and ensure a unique sense of place. Our team conducts preliminary site planning studies, conceptual design studies, and develops the Program of Requirements (PORs). We also support the design and construction process of campus projects.

This position is located in College Station, TX. Remote/Work from alternate location is not available at this time. QualificationsRequired Education and Experience:- Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture or closely related field
- Six to seven years of progressively responsible experience in landscape design and maintenance OR any equivalent combination of experience, education and training.
Required Licenses and Certifications:- Registered Landscape Architect in the State of Texas or ability to obtain within 6 months.
- Any equivalent combination of experience, education or training is acceptable.
Preferred Education and Experience: - Master's degree in Landscape Architecture.
- Experience with landscape planning, design and construction in a university campus setting.
- LEED AP or an understanding of sustainable principles and strategies.
- Experience with ArcGIS and working experience with SketchUp
