Position SummaryAs Manager-Energy Management, you will play a pivotal role in leading all energy and utilities initiatives and shaping long-term energy strategies for Life Time. This role requires extensive financial analysis and data-driven decision-making, which are essential to shaping Life Time's energy management strategy. You will be responsible for leading the development and management of energy-related physical assets and renewable energy projects. Key responsibilities include supporting energy procurement, addressing club inquiries and variances, resolving utility payment issues, conducting variance and usage impact analysis, tracking rebates, and managing financial budgeting, forecasting, and planning efforts. You will collaborate closely with our Clubs, Facility Engineering, Construction, Architecture, Asset Management, Finance, Accounting, and Procurement teams to deliver sustainable, business-aligned energy solutions.
Job Duties/Responsibilities- Oversee all energy management functions, including coordination of payment processes with internal Accounting teams and external partners such as Engie. Ensure efficient tracking and reconciliation of utility deposits, rebates, and account setups. Provide support to the utility account setup administrator to streamline processes and ensure accuracy in utility-related activities.
- Develop the annual utility budget, monthly financial reporting, forecasting, and planning. Lead efforts to reduce expense by providing insights derived from variance analysis, usage analysis, and other P&L, and project modeling.
- Support the team in identifying operational issues that impact energy and water usage and member experience. Engage with club leadership as needed to discuss variances and next steps.
- Develop and implement energy procurement strategies. Navigate both regulated and deregulated markets for electricity and gas, ensuring cost-effective and sustainable solutions. Lead water conservation initiatives to align with overall energy efficiency goals.
- Support overall Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) reporting and engage in Life Time's carbon emissions roadmap goals
Minimum Required Qualifications - Knowledge of standard office procedures and computer software
Education:- Bachelor's Degree in Business or a related field
Years of Experience:- 5+ years business experience
- Demonstrated corporate energy or facilities management experience
Licenses / Certifications / Registrations:Preferred Qualifications: - Project management and organizational skills
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Strong analytical and financial skills.
- In-depth knowledge of Business Intelligence and Analytics software tools
