Job Description SummaryThe Engineering Technical Leader - Nuclear Fuel and Packaging Design will be responsible for providing technical leadership to a team of engineers performing nuclear fuel and packaging design for GE Vernova's current and future fleet of Boiling Water Reactors.
Job DescriptionEssential Responsibilities:- Provide Technical Leadership for the design and manufacturing support of nuclear fuel and packaging
- Be responsible for team resource planning and assignments
- Partner with business teams to provide work planning, scheduling, risks and technical support for customer deliverables
- Work within a team environment and have accountability for delivering products and services on-time and on-budget
- Interface with internal and external customers, suppliers, partners, licensing, and regulatory authorities on technical issues
- Mentor in area of expertise to less experienced engineers
- Be responsible for oversight of the product technology decisions and provide timely communications on significant issues or developments
- Work across engineering teams to assure effective interdisciplinary design interfaces are established and maintained, resolve interdisciplinary issues, plan/support independent design reviews
- Perform work in compliance with NRC regulated policies and procedures
- Meet customer commitments and drive continuous improvement
Basic Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited college or university
- Minimum 8 years of experience in a technology or engineering role
Eligibility Requirements:- The preferred work location for this role is at the GEH Headquarters Wilmington, NC but qualified remote candidates will be considered.
- This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to U.S. export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of U.S. person status prior to employment.
Desired Qualifications:- Minimum 5 years of nuclear industry experience
- Master's Degree or greater in an engineering discipline from an accredited college or University
- Experience in managing highly technical and diverse engineering teams
- 5+ years of nuclear fuel product development experience
- Knowledge of manufacturing process
- Knowledge and experience in project planning, scheduling and execution
- Knowledge and experience in new product design
- Knowledge of quality standards and systems (e.g., NQA-1 and ISO 9000)
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Strong customer mindset
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and cope under pressure
- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills and capable of articulating specific technical topics
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented and accountable for results
- Ability to work effectively within a highly collaborative environment
- A self-starter willing to take initiative
The base pay range for this position is $112 - 160k. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for bonuses, such as a performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity. This position is expected to close on 11/13/2024.
The company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120%, or 130% of salary in certain areas.
