Facilities Manager Bismarck, North Dakota The Great Plains Regional Office of Ducks Unlimited (DU) has an opening for a Facilities Manager in Bismarck, ND. We are looking for an individual whose main responsibility will be maintaining the buildings, grounds, and vehicle fleet within the Great Plains Region. The incumbent will become part of a team of biologists, agronomists, engineers, fundraisers, and other conservation professionals responsible for the protection, restoration and management of wetlands and associated habitats in the Great Plains Region. Key Responsibilities: Responsible for maintaining buildings, grounds, and vehicle fleet at DUs Great Plains Regional Office in Bismarck, ND. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Facilities Management: o Oversee daily operations and maintenance of company facilities. o Coordinate and manage repairs, upgrades, and renovations. o Develop and implement facility management policies and procedures. o Coordination of facilities set-up for meetings and gatherings. o In coordination with the Biology and Research Teams, provide management and operations support at DU-owned properties (including building maintenance, trail maintenance, and vendor oversight). Contractor and Vendor Management: o Identify, select, and negotiate with service providers and contractors. o Manage vendor contracts and service agreements. o Monitor vendor performance to ensure quality and compliance. o Prepare and manage the facilities budget. o Track expenses and ensure cost-effective management of resources. o Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements. Safety and Compliance: o Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure adherence to safety protocols. o Address and resolve safety hazards or compliance issues. o Implement and monitor emergency preparedness and response plans. o Plan and manage office space allocation and layout changes. o Oversee space utilization to ensure efficient use of facilities. o Ensure compliance with all local, state, federal, and accreditation organizations regarding building safety and maintenance. Maintenance and Repairs: o Oversee vehicle fleet maintenance and repairs. o Oversee preventive maintenance and repair schedules for equipment and systems. o Grounds maintenance includes but is not limited to lawn care, landscaping, weed control, pest control, irrigation systems, snow removal, and parking lot maintenance. o Ensure timely response to maintenance requests and issues. o Maintain records of maintenance activities and repairs. o Collaborate with upper management on budgeting for facility and vehicle needs. o Knowledge and know how to fix things that arent required to have a licensed individual perform o Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Qualifications: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong customer service skills. Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects, tasks, and lines of communication simultaneously. General knowledge of building and grounds maintenance and construction. Strategic thinking with a hands-on, practical approach. Proactive problem-solving skills. Detail oriented, self-motivated and able to work independently as well as in a team environment. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite programs (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams). Minimum of three years of relevant experience. High school diploma or GED required, continued schooling preferred.
