About the Position: **This is a Non-state Service (X-16) Position** This is a second-level supervisory Forestry position accountable for directing a specific region of the statewide forestry program. Work at this level includes administrative, personnel, and budget management of a state forestry program in accordance with policies, rules, and regulations. Employee supervision includes hire recommendations; training; work planning, assignments, and review; and performance assessment, coaching, and progressive discipline. Supervision at this level also requires these employees to have the knowledge and skills to perform and review the work overseen. Additional duties include, but are not limited to, oversight over multiple areas, program management and review, and wildland firefighting suppression operations. Employee must have excellent computer and communication skills, as well as knowledge and oversight competency to perform assigned management directives, and report regularly to Regional Forester.
