How You'll Perform the Role
- Continuously perform all required tasks in a safe manner, adhering to all established safety rules and procedures. Must take immediate action to correct and/or report any unsafe conditions and hazards.
- Develop, implement and ensure all corporate and plant safety policies and procedures are being followed and are up to date.
- Maintain total compliance with all OSHA and EPA regulations.
- Administer safety training updates for shipping/receiving employees, ensuring all lift and clamp truck safety rules are communicated and understood.
- Work with Corporate EHS Manager on plant safety and environmental issues.
- Perform and document required Mobile Inspections.
- Conduct required training and new employee orientation.
- Follow all Food Contact Packaging Safety requirements as outline in the SQF Quality Manual and GMP's.
- Liaison for government agencies and emergency responders.
- Lead efforts, projects, and cross-functional compliance teams in the direction of continuously improving work environment that is safe and environmentally friendly.
What We Need From You
- High school diploma or GED is required , Experience on Quality, Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field is required.
- Three years of related experience preferred.
- Must be bilingual, fluent conversation English and Spanish
- Must be computer literate. Must have intimate knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Reading, writing and basic math skills.
- Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations and policies.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in technology and equipment used in environmental inspections.
- Physically able to conduct inspections and carry equipment used for inspections.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time.
