SummaryThe key role of this position will be to lead the electrical work for solar installations and service type work. Your work will primarily be solar-related installations & service, but you will also assist with other electrical jobs as needed. The position will require someone who is well organized and can manage multiple ongoing projects and tasks. The person in this position is someone who we can count on to complete work without active supervision. The position will include the physical demands of working on steep rooftops and, lifting heavy equipment, and ensuring safe working conditions. Required Qualifications/Experiences:- MUST hold Journeyman or Master electrical license in at least one of these states MO/KS/OK/AR
- NABCEP PVA, PVIP, PVIS, or other certification is a PLUS
- Knowledge of residential & commercial, single-phase & 3-phase electrical equipment, cabling, and installation methods
- Knowledge of current NEC as applicable to solar installations
- Knowledge with solar equipment, modules, inverters, racking, and monitoring systems
- Knowledge & experience reading and installing per project plan sets and electrical diagrams
- Experience with proper use of fall prevention and fall restraint systems
- Experience with communication and low voltage wiring such as ethernet and RS485
- Good with time management, schedule coordination, and managing materials inventory
- Good with technology, software, mobile apps, and computers
- Experience & knowledge with the following systems is a PLUS:
- Enphase - IQ Microinverters, IQ battery, IQ system controller, IQ gateway
- SMA - String Inverters, Commercial String Inverters
- IronRidge, Unirac, & Sunmodo - ground & roof mount racking systems
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Day to day work may consist of any of the following:
- Planning for upcoming installations and creating electrical material lists.
- Assist with creating and submitting material lists to equipment suppliers and placing orders.
- Counting orders for accuracy and/or organizing warehouse space and equipment.
- Contacting customers to communicate the schedule and going over the work to be completed.
- Performing detailed site surveys of structural dimensions and electrical equipment prior to installation.
- Assist with project electrical planning, switchgear layouts, and coordinating with AHJ and/or utility companies.
- Performing all parts of solar installation with an emphasis on electrical specific work.
- Assist your team with rooftop work, DC cabling, mounting racking, mounting inverters, and be a team player for the entire installation.
- Commissioning and activation of systems upon utility PTO.
- Actively learning and training on new equipment while looking for better ways to improve our overall quality of work and installation efficiency.
- Complete service calls and troubleshoot electrical related issues.
- Diagnose system issues, recommend equipment replacements, necessary repairs, and assist with completing service work orders.
- Assist with electrical work orders when needed.
- A majority of jobs will be within our immediate service area; however some projects will require overnight travel. Approximately 25%-50% of work will require overnight travel, but this will vary depending on specific work.
- If traveling for a project, you will be HOME ON WEEKENDS.
