The Department of Emergency Medicine at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, a major teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School in Boston MA, is recruiting an academic attending physician. Candidates will be considered for faculty appointments at Harvard Medical School (appointment at the rank of instructor, assistant or associate professor will be commensurate with qualifications). Role Overview: As part of our dynamic team, you will be at the forefront of developing a specialized area of expertise in Population Health. This role involves conducting pivotal research on the accessibility and value of episodic care within the US healthcare system. Your work will be instrumental in identifying and overcoming barriers to care for our most vulnerable populations, through the development of innovative and sustainable healthcare solutions. Key Responsibilities: Conduct cutting-edge research focused on improving access to episodic care through emergency departments, urgent, care, centers, and primary care practices. Develop and implement innovative solutions aimed at improving access to emergency medical care for vulnerable populations. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals and researchers to drive forward initiatives in population health. Engage in academic activities, including teaching and mentoring, to foster the next generation of emergency medicine professionals. Contribute to the Department of Emergency Medicine's mission through clinical practice, research, and academic service. Qualifications: MD or equivalent medical degree, with a strong background in Emergency Medicine. Demonstrated interest and experience in population health, healthcare systems, and healthcare innovation. Proven track record of research or projects focused on improving healthcare access and quality. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders. Commitment to excellence in clinical care, research, and education.
