Examination Schedule:
Written exam dates will be announced five(5) business days prior to the examination.
Examinations:Written Exam (100%):Will be conducted for the purpose of assessing the applicant's knowledge of functions and duties of the Department of Agriculture and Measurement Standards; applicable laws, rules, and regulations; investigative and enforcement techniques; basic principles of agricultural, biological, chemical, environmental, and physical sciences; effective public relations; and agricultural products of Kern County and other related topics.
Applicants must attain at least a 70% score on each phase of the examination process.
Minimum Qualifications / Employment Standards:Bachelor's degree from an accredited four (4) year college or university in a major that meets the minimum qualifications for County Agricultural Inspector/Biologist or County Weights and Measures Inspector license examinations.
AND Inspector I must obtain one (1) license within twelve (12) months of initial appointment. Failure to obtain the license will result in termination.
Inspector II: requires any one (1) license.
Inspector III: requires any five (5) licenses.
Senior Inspector: requires all eight (8) licenses.
