Akima Systems Engineering (ASE) is seeking a Senior Training Specialist with robust experience in learning science, educational instruction, and content development for the Department of Defense (DoD). This role will be responsible for quantifying and clarifying requirements, timelines, and goals. Furthermore, the Senior Training Specialist will collaborate with multiple technical and instructional system design (ISD) teams to produce quality, immersive training. Develop distributed, online educational and training content utilizing instructional systems design, learning theory (Andragogy, Transformational Learning, Experiential Learning, Self-Directed Learning), and content development processes. Identify potential roadblocks and provide innovative solutions to superiors. Implement Government directives, areas of emphasis, and guidance into production processes. Integrate audio, visual, and written material into interesting, instructive, and intuitive products. Develop Learning Management Database and immersive training materials. Synchronize team efforts to produce products and apply quality control testing procedures to ensure product operations and utility. Support the planning and managing of courseware development and other educational and training products. Qualifications Secret Clearance. Bachelor’s Degree or higher. 4+ years of additional experience in lieu of bachelor’s degree. Minimum of 10 years of experience. 3 to 5 years’ experience with eLearning practices and technology strategies in a military training environment. 3 to 5 years’ experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS). 3 to 5 years’ experience with Advanced Distributed Learning (ADL). Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Sharable Content Object Resource Model (SCORM). Experience with eLearning and curriculum and courseware authoring for web-based training and education development. Proven leadership experience when managing the production of distributed learning content. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal abilities. Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Clearance. Desired Qualifications: TS Clearance with SCI Eligibility. Strong Military experience/familiarity. Ability to apply learning science to develop requirements and desired instructional outcomes. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with Government personnel (e.g., senior leaders, instructors, learners). Ability to design assessment strategies and assessment interventions for instructional contexts. Ability to ‘own’ and proactively drive work.
