The Systems Engineer III (CISCO) is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure networking systems, with a focus on CISCO technologies. This full-time, onsite position at Portsmouth and St. Julien’s Creek Annex requires a highly skilled professional with a minimum of 7 years of systems engineering and networking experience, particularly with CISCO networking solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience with Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), routers, switches, and possess strong knowledge of cybersecurity and STIG compliance. Experience with Navy C4I systems is a plus. An active SECRET clearance is required, along with up to 25% travel. Responsibilities Design, implement, and manage complex CISCO-based networks, including routers, switches, and Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM). Ensure cybersecurity compliance by performing STIG scanning and implementing necessary security controls. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain secure, scalable, and efficient network infrastructures. Provide technical expertise in troubleshooting and resolving network issues, ensuring high availability and performance. Develop and maintain technical documentation for network configurations, processes, and security measures. Ensure compliance with DoD and Navy C4I cybersecurity standards (preferred). Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers on CISCO networking and cybersecurity best practices. Travel up to 25% for site visits, assessments, and technical meetings. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering Discipline. Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in systems engineering and networking. Certifications: IAT II certification required (e.g., Security+) Extensive experience with CISCO networking, including routers, switches, and Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM). Cybersecurity and STIG experience required. Navy C4I experience is a plus. Active SECRET clearance is required. Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
