Akima Systems Engineering (ASE) is seeking a Master Training Specialist with extensive experience in learning science, educational instruction, and content development for the Department of Defense (DoD). This role will be responsible for collaborating with Government personnel and directly interfacing with customers to quantify and clarify requirements, timelines, and goals. Lead and guide content development teams in producing high-quality courseware and educational products. Integrate the efforts of multiple technical and instructional system design (ISD) teams to produce quality and immersive training experiences. Oversee contract team adherence to plans of action and milestone (POAM) schedules. Identify potential roadblocks and offer innovative solutions. Implement Government directives, areas of emphasis, and guidance into production processes. Understand and ensure all activities align with Government strategic plans and objectives. Integrate audio, visual, and written material into interesting, instructive, and intuitive products. Lead the efforts of multiple teams, planning and managing production of courseware and other educational and training products. Apply quality control testing procedures to ensure product operations and utility. Coordinate with customers to achieve mission goals. Apply learning science principles to develop clear requirements and instructional outcomes that enhance learning effectiveness and engagement. Qualifications Secret Clearance. 3 to 5 years’ experience with eLearning practices and technology strategies in a military training environment. 3 to 5 years’ experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS). 3 to 5 years’ experience with Advanced Distributed Learning (ADL). Experience with learning theory (Andragogy, Transformational Learning, Experiential Learning, Self-Directed Learning), content development processes, synchronous and asynchronous training environment management and product development. Extensive experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Sharable Content Object Resource Model (SCORM). Experience with eLearning and curriculum and courseware authoring for web-based training and education development. Proven leadership experience, especially in a senior advisory role. Acute attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal abilities. Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Clearance. Desired Qualifications: Master’s or PhD degree with extensive subject matter expertise in related area such as training development, educational theory, software development, network and database management, system administration, instructional system design. TS Clearance with SCI Eligibility. Strong Military experience/familiarity. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with executive-level Government personnel (e.g., senior leaders, instructors, learners). Ability to design assessment strategies and assessment interventions for instructional contexts. Ability to ‘own’ and proactively drive work. Advanced-level proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
