The Participant Management Unit Team Two (PMU2) is a brand new unit established to help implement SB1013 which expanded the Recycling Program to the wine and distilled spirits on January 1, 2024. PMU2 is looking for a Unit Supervisor who is a strong communicator with tact and professionalism. To be successful in this position you will need to work cohesively with a team, and be open minded and flexible to new ideas and solutions. The classification for this position is Staff Services Manager I (SSM I). PMU2, along with PMU Team 1 (PMU1), provides education, training and customer service to registered Program participants that are beverage manufacturers and distributors, especially the newly registered participants from the wine and distilled industry. PMU2 actively works to build and maintain good working relationships with beverage manufacturers and distributors to ensure their compliance with the Beverage Container Recycling and Litter Reduction Act in their responsibility to report and pay California Redemption Value (CRV) and processing fees accurately and timely. This position will leverage your skills to independently to perform a full range of more responsible, varied and complex work of the PMU2, and to develop and implement regulations, policies and procedures related to California Beverage Container Recycling Program (BCRP) beverage manufacturer and distributor participants. Since PMU2 is a brand new unit, the Unit Supervisor will also recruit and hire additional new staff to the Unit. The Unit Supervisor will routinely work closely with the PMU1 supervisor, Registration Unit 1 and 2 supervisors, and counterparts in Accounting Office.
