Role and Scope of Position:
Responsible for assisting with the various analytical and administrative processes used to deliver the state-sponsored Solar MA Renewable Target (SMART) incentive program to Eversource's solar customers. The SMART program is a solar incentive program designed to promote cost-effective solar development in the Commonwealth while achieving state renewable energy goals. Help the SMART team complete the key activities and tasks relating to program and solar customer tracking and workflow management; SMART application, claim, and incentive processing; customer issue resolution; and company and regulatory reporting.
Essential Functions: - Assists with the processing of our monthly solar incentive payments by preparing, analyzing, and reviewing various program and payment data. Identifies and resolves data discrepancies and recommends payment adjustments.
- Reviews, validates, and tracks energy credit transfer forms submitted by SMART applicants and participants. Assists with the annual credit cash-out process as well as solar capacity buyout requests.
- Helps prepare regulatory filings that report the status of Eversource's SMART program and the amount of energy credits being distributed to Eversource customers.
- Engages with other Eversource internal teams (distributed generation, billing, metering, and load settlement) and external vendors to diagnose data discrepancies, process delays, and customer payment issues so that they are quickly resolved.
- Provides backup to SMART program team in answering and responding to stakeholder inquiries.
- Manages the processing, tracking and sending of payment notification emails to SMART-participating customers.
Technical Knowledge/Skill:
- Demonstrated interest or experience in renewable and clean energy policy or technology, particularly solar.
- Requires good communication, writing, and presentation skills; good organizational skills and attention to detail; and professionalism, commitment, and sound judgement when interacting with team members and customers.
- High level of proficiency in Excel and other data applications.
- Commitment to documenting work and sources for ease of use by others; efficient, inquisitive, and skilled researcher;
- Motivated self-starter, must work productively and efficiently both in a team environment and individually under intermittent supervision;
- Ability to multi-task and a willingness to do what it takes to complete tasks efficiently.
Education:
- Pursuing a degree in data analytics, engineering, economics, energy or environmental science, statistics, or related discipline or equivalent experience.
