OverviewThe Health, Safety, Environmental Manager will office onsite to assist in safety compliance with company policy as well as federal/state guidelines. This includes but is not limited to assisting with safety document control, documenting training, completing reports, and assisting with case management.
Regular Job Duties- Ensure a "Safety First" attitude throughout the project with all levels of management, operations, client, and subcontractors.
- Develop, organize, manage, maintain, and administer the Health and Safety Program in collaboration with Health and Safety department.
- Ensure corporate and project specific safety and health policies as well as federal (OSHA), state and local safety standards are communicated and followed.
- Work closely with field supervision to plan more complex safety aspects of the project construction including critical lifts, traffic control, work plans, etc.
- Develop and maintain a working relationship with the owner or the owner's representative, Webber/PLW personnel, and public entities.
- Read, understand, and plan according to the work specifications and contract responsibilities.
- Anticipate project conflicts, communicate preventative action plans, and implement solutions to avoid issues.
- Oversight of Subcontractors.
- Monitor and report safety incidents and reports.
- Present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Relay required safety information to all staff.
- Identify safety training requirements, make recommendations, and schedule the training as approved and required.
- Conduct safety training within the scope of his/her experience and certification.
- Complete internal audits as required.
- Assist in the development, coordination, and maintenance of emergency preparedness plans.
- Coordinate the review of health and safety related policies and procedures.
- Provide information to employees on health and safety.
- Other tasks, as required by the Operation Leadership Team and/or HSE Manager/Director.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities - Identifies and appropriately complete open tasks within the company's policies and standards.
- Ability to effectively communicate HSE requirements and values to all levels of employees and client representatives.
- Ability to implement the principles and practices of occupational safety and health including industrial hygiene and environmental protection programs.
- Understanding of OSHA and construction standards, environmental regulations, and related local ordinances.
- Ability to provide employee training using multiple delivery methods and media.
- Ability to conduct a root cause analysis.
- Ability to communicate effectively through oral and written communication to individuals and groups of various sizes who possess a wide range of language skills.
- Ability to interact effectively with individuals in a wide range of situations, circumstances, and settings as well as the ability to work effectively with a diverse workforce to achieve stated HSE objectives.
- Ability to operate a computer effectively and the ability to use Microsoft Office products and other software applications effectively to manage information.
- Ability to act appropriately in emergency situations.
- Ability to interpret and effectively communicate technical documents such as JHAs to workers, visitors, and any other appropriate personnel.
- Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail.
Qualifications - Five (5) or more years of experience managing construction safety in solar farms.
- CHSO or CHST or higher certification.
- Valid driver's license with an exemplary driving record.
- Be able to communicate in English via verbal and written communications.
- Communicate in Spanish (read, write, and speak) is a plus not required.
- Moderate physical activity performing somewhat strenuous daily activities of a primarily administrative nature. Exposure to outdoors with changing weather conditions such as rain, sun, snow, and wind. Ability to physically maneuver by foot minor obstacles at construction projects.
- Must have the ability to wear the required PPE.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
- Think clearly and make sound decisions in a loud, congested environment, with multiple moving hazards.
