Job Summary
As an Asset Manager, you will be responsible and accountable for the safe and reliable operations of the company's operating assets. The Asset Manager will be responsible for management of solar assets and ensuring their optimal performance, efficiency, and profitability. This role involves collaborating with various teams including finance, pre-construction, construction, engineering, and legal to implement effective strategies for managing and optimizing solar assets. The Asset Manager will also be responsible for the daily activities of the assets and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and industry best practices.
The position is home-based with limited travel up to 25%, and requires excellent communication, teamwork, report writing skills, attention to detail, the ability to manage and flex with multiple projects and schedules simultaneously, ability to shift priorities, meet deadlines, and develop good and maintain good relationship with both internal and external clients and drive to meet their needs.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement comprehensive strategies for managing and optimizing solar assets, including performance optimization, risk management, and financial management.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, pre-construction, construction, engineering, and legal, to ensure that solar assets are being managed effectively and efficiently.
Ability to manage multiple solar generation assets, totaling 200+ MW.
Collaborate with safety team and other teams to ensure safe operations of projects with a focus on continuous improvement of safety measures.
Ensure safety reporting and compliance requirements are completed.
Plan and support profit and loss activities for assigned assets.
Perform budget analysis including reporting and forecasting.
Coordinate settlements and power marketing efforts with third parties.
Track insurance requirements on existing policies and coordinate claims process.
Ensure compliance for operating assets including government and commercial obligations.
Carry out and track all owner/seller tasks and responsibilities in the respective project contracts such as the PPA, ICA, O&M, and warranty agreements.
Maintains relationships with clients and partners, including offtake partner, RTO, landowners.
Coordinate with service providers to maintain relationships and ensure completion of scope of work.
Assist origination of O&M services (RFP to Contracting) for projects to support project financing.
Leads reporting efforts, including internal and external reporting.
Coordinate with the Construction team to develop and execute a hand-off process to receive operating assets.
Conducts regular site visits to ensure performance and operations of the assets.
Monitor and analyze asset performance and complete reporting obligations.
Ensure all warranty claims are processed, engage OEM and internal teams to coordinate work and develop a feedback loop.
Coordinate with procurement and operations teams to manage inventory and procurement strategies.
Location: Houston, TX. Hybrid/ Remote working is acceptable for this role. Position may require periodic travel for team meetings, events or determined on an as needed basis.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in engineering, Finance, or a related engineering science. Master's degree preferred.
At least 5 years of professional experience in solar asset management or a related field, with a track record of success in managing large-scale solar assets.
Strong knowledge of solar energy technology, finance, and operations.
Strong leadership skills, with the ability to work successfully across different levels of an organization.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective solutions to complex problems.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
