Job SummaryAs the EHSS Manager, you will play a critical role in leading the Bay St. Louis site's EHSS team, setting an example for EHSS excellence, and driving continuous improvement. You will provide strategic direction and leadership to ensure regulatory compliance, maintain certifications, and inspire the site to achieve new levels of excellence.
How You Can Be the Impact - Lead an inclusive EHSS culture and climate of continuous improvement, engaging with regional and global EHSS initiatives and priorities.
- Provide strategic and actionable EHSS direction, collaborating with the site management team to ensure plant projects, operations, and initiatives meet or exceed relevant internal or external standards.
- Ensure compliance with government regulations, corporate policy, and external standards, monitoring and taking actions to maintain compliance.
- Lead and develop a team of ~4 resources, supporting their continuous capability building and career growth.
- Provide effective financial management, ensuring annual budgetary commitments are met and planning for future focused budgetary plans.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Legal, HR, Communications, Procurement, and Finance, to ensure policy development, enforcement, and compliance.
- Contribute to positive relations with site employees, local community stakeholders, and SABIC customers through transparent communications and inclusive ways of working.
What Matters to SABIC - Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related science or engineering field
- Minimum 7 years of experience in manufacturing with a focus on Environmental, Health, and Safety
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead in a participative environment
- Experience driving successful safety programs through employee involvement in a strong teamwork environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
