ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEER
SCOPE:
Works under limited supervision in a team environment. Supervises operators and contractors as needed. Involves contact with all levels of employees through senior management, and frequent external contact with outside business partners such as vendors, suppliers and contractors.
KNOWLEDGE AND OVERSIGHT OF:
• Projects from start to completion. Includes initial scope, budget, schedule, onsite activities, communication with client and regulators, and site closure.
• Groundwater water quality permitting and environmental obligations, compliance schedules and requirements including EPA Class III UIC and ADEQ Aquifer Protection Permit.
• Storm water permitting and compliance reporting.
• Air Quality permitting, compliance schedules and requirements.
• Reclamation and remediation projects.
• Sampling and data collection for air, water, groundwater, wastewater, storm water, hazardous waste, solid waste, and soil for laboratory testing.
• Installation of monitoring wells, drilling and drilling investigations, soil sampling, packaging, and shipping.
• Due diligence, regulatory compliance.
• Risk-based decision-making framework integral to the regulatory process.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Effectively maintain a high knowledge level and understanding of applicable environmental regulations, safety regulations, and policies and procedures.
• Provide technical interpretation and compliance recommendations for the wide variety of Environmental Regulations/Permit Requirements (local, federal, state).
• Enforce and expediently update environmental compliance programs regarding air, water, waste, and other environmental requirements.
• Evaluate environmental test results, laboratory data and or procedures for compliance with applicable regulations and permit requirements.
• Handle waste for remediation, sampling, packaging, and correctly package and label various wastes.
• Maintain applicable regulation and permit reporting, renewal and related document requirements as required by law. Complete reporting and documentation of site compliance and field activities.
• Support troubleshooting activities on plant environmental systems and equipment.
• Research information and compile reports such as status reports, risk assessments, site characterization, groundwater sampling and recovery.
• Manage EHS incident investigations.

• Design and implement company environmental compliance programs and physically perform regular audits and inspections of facility operations that impact environmental compliance. Proactively detect, correct and minimize the impact of any non-compliance issues.
• Develop and provide necessary training of plant personnel so that all facility employees have the knowledge and skills to comply with environmental regulations and policies.
• Monitor contractor environmental associated field work to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and permit requirements.
• Maintain applicable active certifications and/or licenses, such as EPA certifications.
• Monitor and measure environmental management performance.
• Ability to analyze and accurately document work products in a comprehensive and timely manner.
ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEER EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or related Environmental Engineering discipline (minimum)
• Minimum Seven (7) years of full-time environmental compliance and professional environmental experience
• Experience with and comfort navigating TSCA, NEPA, EPCRA, CWA, CAA, CERCLA, RCRA, and/or SDWA and related applicable regulations are strong considerations for the applicant.
