Under the general direction of the Project Foreman, the incumbents will perform physical labor on assigned project / construction sites. The incumbent must be an experienced, self-motivated, capable journeyman electrician, motivated to complete assigned duties with minimal supervision. The incumbent will perform activities such as excavating, raceway installations, grounding, terminating, instrumentation installation, switchgear installation, startup and testing, and train the upcoming apprentices. Having a journeyman certificate from the ABA or IECA is a must. Incumbents must also be willing to work in a variety of outdoor weather conditions that is normal for the geographical area they are assigned. Primary Job Duties include but may not be limited to: Responsible for attendance, punctuality, and acceptable performance are critically important. Must have previous industrial or commercial electrical experience. Responsible to demonstrate competency and pass RE electrical exam. May be required to safely drive a company vehicle to /or from a job site; on a job site, obeying all local, state and federal traffic laws. Responsible for communicating effectively with project foreman and other Rural employees on the job site. Responsible to adhere to all safety protocols and wear all required PPE equipment. provided by the Company while on the job. May be responsible to read / interpret project plans / details and interpret survey markings, comply with blue-stake requirements as needed. Responsible for accepting and following direction from the Project Foreman or other designated operations management working and be willing to work as part of a production team to complete the project within budget and within defined schedule on the project. Responsible to work collaboratively with other on the project to meet the project plan specifications and schedules. Responsible for completing any other reasonable duties as assigned by the project foreman or management. Responsible to learn how to thread and bend conduit (field test will be required) Responsible to learn how to read project plans / blueprints (field test will be required). Responsible to know how to terminate transformers, motors, lighting panels Responsible knowing how to use / operate scissor lift, boom lift, forklift (field test will be required) and other relevant tools before using on the job. You may never operate equipment, machinery or tools you do not know how to use properly. You are responsible to know if certain tools, machinery or equipment require user certification before using such tools. Safety Responsibilities: This position is designated as safety sensitive pursuant to A.R.S. 23-493. As such, the incumbent should act and carry out their assigned job duties as if in a Safety-First Environment and exercise great caution when working on a construction (project) site. This includes looking for any hazard that may potentially cause harm to themselves or others or may cause damage or loss to any company or third-party property. Incumbents may never perform their duties while impaired caused by alcohol, drugs (legal or illegal), prescribed medication, and/or any other condition that may inhibit their ability to perform their work safely, protect other workers from any hazards, or jeopardize other third-party construction workers and/or members of the public who may be in the immediate area of the construction site.
