To lead the organization's commitment to environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and ethical governance practices and. to develop and implement sustainable strategies and initiatives in alignment with the Group's ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) targets. By fostering collaboration, innovation, and accountability, the Sustainability Lead will play a vital role in advancing the organization's sustainability agenda and contributing to a more sustainable future for all stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
• Accountable for the development of a sustainability strategy and road map in accordance with our carbon commitment objectives (30% reduction in scope 1 and scope 2 by 2030 off the 2021 baseline) and other Group objectives and commitments.
• Lead the alignment of the operations and management teams in respect of the standards and industry body expectations to which we align.
• Plan, design, and deliver climate change resilience initiatives including risk identification, mitigation and adaptation opportunities that are aligned with Group initiatives.
• Lead programs that aim to integrate initiatives to achieve environment and climate change goals, guiding in identifying the most impactful opportunities.
• Assume accountability for implementation of suite of actions to enable data collection and tracking on environment and climate change in support of the Sustainability strategy.
• Protecting and growing our environmental and sustainability reputation to assist in the enhancement of our market position where relevant.
• Oversee the environmental management and ensure operation in line with relevant environmental regulations and in accordance with Corporate (Group) as well as Regional Strategic and membership frameworks.
• Develop and execute the company's ESG strategy and objectives, working with senior management to ensure that the ESG strategy is aligned with the company's business objectives.
• Analyze and assess the company's ESG performance, identifying and prioritizing key environmental, social and governance issues and challenges.
• Conduct ESG risk assessment and reporting, monitor and manage the company's ESG performance and report to management and stakeholders.
• Ensure that the company's business activities and decisions comply with relevant environmental regulations, social standards and governance practices.
• Develop and implement environmental protection programs and social responsibility projects, and actively participate in community development and public welfare.
• Represent the company in ESH industry organizations and community activities to maintain the company's ESG and image.
• Provide leadership and inspire teams (strategic and operational) towards high sustainability performance.
• In conjunction with operational environmental/sustainability teams, assist with the setting of the specific Operations' sustainability performance targets and criteria that align with organizational goals for the team, and drive the delivery of sustainability programs.
• Drive the Organizational Culture and Climate within Reldan to ensure achievement of organizational objectives and employee safety. Training and Development:
• Mentor individuals to enhance the individual`s knowledge, skills, values, and attitude on especially environmental issues.
• Create opportunities for development through participation and involvement in new business or technology enhancement projects for team members.
• Provide coaching to team members on an ongoing basis.
• Transformation & Sustainability: Drive a culture of Transformation within the specific Operation to ensure organizational transformation & sustainability
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in related field and/or equivalent experience.
• Master's Degree will be advantageous
• At least 12 years' experience in a related role such as environmental/sustainability, of which 7 years should have been at a senior management level or experience in a functional/specialist area.
• Relevant ESG certification qualifications such as CFA, CFA ESG, GRI etc. are a plus
• Medically fit to work in the specific business area.
• Successfully clear security screening record including a 7-year criminal record search free of theft or fraud related offenses.
• Be a US Citizen, US permanent resident, or Classified as a protected person
• Valid driver's license (if applicable)
