We're here to better our world with biology.Join us as our Senior Environmental & Utilities Manager In this role you'll make an impact by:- Developing and maintain strong relationships with critical external groups necessary to continue production
- Manage a department of ~20 operators, ~3 Engineers, ~5 Technical Staff, along with 3rd party workforce consisting of ~25 contractors
- Make recommendations for investments in the departments.
- Sponsors technical change projects on equipment and software.
- Develop, evaluate and implement appropriate practices and technology to improve sustainability of support operations.
- Manage the communication, interaction with and the engagement of internal and external stakeholders, including production departments, local landowners, local and state officials and neighbors
- Set strategic objectives, business goals and targets and individual cascading of these in assigned areas.
- Prepares organizational development plan, succession plan and activity-based cost accounting.
- Adhere to and enforce corporate and local Safety, Zeal and GMP policy.
- Ensure that the operations are conducted according to better practices and standard operating procedures.
- Assure all departmental personnel and activities comply with NZ policies and standards including EQS and Environmental policies and all local, state and federal laws and regulations.
To succeed you must hold: - Hold a M.Sc. or B.Sc. in environmental sciences, chemical/biochemical engineering, or related field, with relevant experience.
- A strong knowledge/understanding of specialty chemical manufacturing and industrial production processes is preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities are required. Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and in a global enterprise preferred.
- Strong written and oral communication skills required.
- Must perform high quality work and demonstrate personal characteristics which assist in motivating others to perform high quality work with high productivity and positive morale.
- Must be physically able to perform all aspects of the job, including the necessary visual acuity and ability to climb ladders and stairs.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unaided.
