JOB DESCRIPTION OVERVIEW

Crete United is helping companies build for a sustainable future by implementing energy services designed to mitigate financial risks and protect their businesses from volatile energy prices. The Energy Services group at Crete United is expanding and is looking to add a Director, Energy Platform Development.

We are looking for an individual with analytical rigor and process-driven thinking to play a key role in developing software for energy calculations to help businesses understand their facilities, perform financial analysis, and optimize energy usage. The Director will collaborate with cross-functional departments and be hands-on in developing software solutions for energy calculations, focusing on simplicity, efficiency, user-experience, and scalability.

JOB DUTIES

1. Energy Modeling Software Development:

• Lead the design and implementation of streamlined energy calculations for energy consumption, efficiency, and sustainability across various systems and projects.

• Design, develop, and maintain simple, intuitive software tools that summarize energy profiles for buildings through automated energy-related calculations.
• Ensure that the software is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
• Provide technical guidance and review the team’s work to ensure the highest quality standards are met.

1. Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:

• Collaborate closely with engineers, data analysts, and project managers to align software development and energy calculations with each department at Crete United.
• Work with the business development team to gather and prioritize user requirements for new software features or energy calculation methods.
• Present technical findings and reports to senior management and key stakeholders.

1. Continuous Improvement:

• Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in energy efficiency, sustainability, and software development best practices.
• Identify opportunities to improve existing software solutions and energy calculation methodologies.
• Proactively propose new solutions to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of energy calculations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Energy Systems, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of software development experience, preferably with experience in energy-related software tools.
• Familiarity with cloud-based platforms and modern software architecture.
• Proven experience of achieving goals both as an individual and with a team.

• Demonstrate strong organization and communication (written and verbal) skills coupled with a team-oriented, positive approach
• Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize goals, and be detail oriented
• Self-starter
