This position assists with seasonal surveys of big game, small game and non-game wildlife. Many of these surveys require long hours in inclement weather while operating 4 wheel drive vehicles off roads or while flying in aircraft. This position is very field work intensive and up to 80% of the annual workload for this position is spent away from the office. The incumbent will assist with various research projects focusing on wildlife population management and habitat preservation. This position will also serve a vital role in assisting answering questions from the public ranging from hunting locations and tactics, disease sampling to depredation issues.

Job responsibilities will require a flexible work schedule that may require work during early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays. Duties will occasionally require travel away from the duty station.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:- a working knowledge and experience with wildlife management;
- experience with chemical immobilization of wildlife;
- familiarity with flight in small fixed and rotary wing aircraft;
- be able to collect, compile and report scientific data;
- prepare and present informational talks to peers and the general public;
- accomplish work tasks both independently and as a member of a work team;
- independently arrange work schedules to accomplish tasks in variety of areas of responsibility;
- must have strong verbal skills and the ability to work well and interact with other wildlife professionals and the public.
