RequirementsCore Responsibilities: - Environmental Policy Leadership: Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive environmental policies and procedures, managing our Company Environmental System (CES) to ensure robust regulatory compliance.
- Risk Assessment & CAPA Implementation: Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential environmental hazards and implement targeted Corrective Action Preventive Action (CAPA) plans.
- Technical Support for Remediation: Provide expertise and technical guidance for environmental remediation projects, supporting both internal and external teams to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with site personnel to elevate environmental programs, ensuring alignment with regulations and fostering a proactive improvement culture.
- Incident Management & Reporting: Lead investigations into environmental incidents, oversee incident reporting, and manage environmental targets and objectives.
- Scientific Analysis & Quality Assurance: Analyze environmental data and perform quality checks to support informed decision-making and regulatory alignment.
- Compliance Reporting: Prepare, review, and submit Environmental Compliance Reports, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
- Audit Facilitation: Conduct internal audits and participate in external environmental audits to maintain high standards of compliance.
- New Product Compliance: Collaborate on New Product Introductions to ensure all environmental compliance requirements are met effectively.
- Training Program Leadership: Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs to promote team competency and compliance in environmental standards.
Preferred Experience & Qualifications: - Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the specialty chemical manufacturing industry.
- Specialized Environmental Expertise:
- Clean Air Act (CAA): Familiarity with National Emissions Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) for Miscellaneous Organic Chemical Manufacturing (MON).
- Waste Management (RCRA): Proficient in managing solid and hazardous waste compliance requirements.
- Clean Water Act (CWA): Knowledge of NPDES and On-Site Wastewater Treatment protocols, including Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD) and Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) controls.
- Emissions Calculation: Experienced in calculating Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) and Hazardous Air Pollutants (HAPs) emissions.
