McAdams is seeking an energetic Landscape Architect to join our Planning + Design team in our Dallas-Fort Worth, TX office. Working in a collaborative team environment with professionals located throughout the U.S., this person will be responsible for helping grow our creative Parks, Urban Planning and Design practice in the DFW Metroplex.

Position PurposeThe selected candidate will collaborate with the Planning and Design team and other services and market sectors within the firm to lead the pursuit and execution of work primarily serving our public clients and project types including parks, recreation, municipal improvements, civic buildings, and urban design projects. This position requires exceptional communication, management, and leadership skills to pursue and execute high-quality deliverables for clients in the DFW metroplex and throughout the U.S. This position will collaborate with and lead teams to produce high quality concepts, designs, construction documents and materials related to various projects within our national practice. To lead and support a team delivering projects, the successful candidate must have a comprehensive understanding of the design process and experience leading a multidisciplinary project team. This position is anticipated to have career growth and an expanded role as future workload and staff is increased due to success in winning and executing excellent projects and serving an expanded body of clients.

Essential Functions + Responsibilities- Lead high quality project pursuits and request for qualifications proposals by collaborating with planning and design, marketing, and other teams;
- Lead and provide design direction for site planning and conceptual design at a variety of scales and project types such as parks & recreation, municipal improvements, civic buildings, and urban design;
- Provide guidance for application of development ordinances and codes to designs to seek development approval;
- Work with the planning and design team to lead the delivery of high-quality construction documents, bid packages and cost estimates;
- Proven project delivery experience including schedule management and internal / external coordination;
- Collaborate with and lead dynamic teams of planners, designers and other professionals as a project manager and maintain the key point of contact with clients;
- Deliver presentations to elected officials, advisory boards, stakeholders and the public;
- Develop and execute comprehensive community engagement plans;
- Work with leadership staff to provide input on strategic planning goals that advance the firms growth in a national practice;
- Work independently and collaboratively as part of a team;
- Be willing to travel for projects, training, and company events;
- Contribute to the overall success and happiness of the team.

Qualifications- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited program
- Registered Landscape Architect in state of TX
- 6-10 years of working experience
- Demonstrated expertise in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suites (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, etc.) and Sketch-up
- Ability to work within a collaborative team environment and communicate effectively and mange a project team
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, critical thinking skills, problem solving skills
- Experience with hand drawing of layouts and site plans for preliminary submittals
- Eager to engage in our creative and dynamic work environment
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
