What You'll Do- This position requires overseeing the work of others and management of small and complex projects of various types
- Environmental Senior Project Managers prepare project proposals and budgets (including complex proposals in response to publicly solicited requests for proposals), lead business development initiatives within their operating group(s), serve as a technical resource to junior staff in their area(s) of expertise, review technical deliverables, invoices, and field reports prepared by junior staff
- Environmental Senior Project Managers may be required to supervise junior staff directly and if so, will be responsible for maintaining a sufficient workload for all junior staff under their supervision
- This position requires the ability to independently solve day-to-day problems on projects with limited direction or involvement from executive staff. Environmental Senior Project Managers are responsible for daily on-going client interaction, maintaining a client database, and actively participating in business development and client marketing events
- Familiarity with providing professional environmental services related to the implementation of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program, CARES funding, Disaster Recovery funding, the HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME), United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development loans and for other similar federal and/or state grant programs.
- The qualified individual will perform all relevant tasks required to conduct various environmental services which will include, but are not necessarily limited to: HUD Part 58 Environmental Reviews (inclusive of Exempt, CEST, CENST, EAs, and EISs), Phase I and II Environmental Assessments (ESAs), Prime Farmlands identification/conversion, Jurisdictional Wetland Delineations, Cultural Resource Assessments, Noise Assessments & Analysis, Above Ground Storage Tank Identification and Separation Distance Analysis, Threatened & Endangered Species Surveys, and other related National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) or environmental related work as may be identified.
- Experience utilizing the HUD Environmental Review Online System (HEROS) to complete environmental reviews for both Part 50 and Part 58 projects.
- Ability to determine the appropriate Level of Review based on site specific information, funding mechanisms, etc. and ability to communicate with clients regarding the applicable procedures, findings of the environmental review and potential mitigation measures.
- Ability to engage with the public, affected communities and stakeholders during the environmental review process, ensuring their input is considered in project planning and decision-making.
What We're Looking For- BS in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology or related field required
- 6+ years of related experience, including progressive responsibility and proven track record of project and people management skills
- Knowledge of permitting processes, environmental regulations, and environmental test methods.
- If required by project assignments, position requires the ability to perform Environmental Professional duties as defined by ASTM Phase I ESA standards, if required by project assignments
- You are expected to be proficient in at least one of the following disciplines:
- Due Diligence
- Assessment & Remediation
- Natural Resources
- Industrial Hygiene / IAQ
- NEPA
- PFAS
- The specific department that you will ultimately function in will be determined at the time of interview.
