South Post Oak Recycling Center is a family owned and operated business since 1994. We recycle and buy nonferrous and ferrous metals as well as electronics. We've been a trusted partner and recycler to numerous companies and people for over 26 years. Essential Job Responsibilities:

Coordinate and manage the daily operations of recycling collection routes, ensuring timely and efficient pickups and deliveries.
Schedule and assign drivers and collection team to specific routes based on operational needs and customer requirements.
Monitor and track the progress of recycling trucks and drivers to ensure adherence to schedules and address any issues or delays.
Manage Customer Relations Management (CRM) System to ensure customer information is accurate, metrics are tracked and service requests are efficiently managed.
Communicate with drivers to provide instructions, updates, and route changes as necessary.
Optimize routes to maximize efficiency and minimize fuel consumption.
Collaborate with other departments, such as customer service and operations, to address customer needs and resolve service-related issues.
Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, including route assignments, driver performance, and any incidents or accidents.
Greet customers and provide them with information about recycling services, rates, and procedures.
Accurately process payments from customers for recycling services or purchases.
Operate cash registers, handle cash transactions, and maintain proper cash handling procedures.
Ensure cash register balances at the end of each shift and report any discrepancies to management.
Assist customers in locating and selecting recycling products or materials as needed.
Handle customer inquiries, complaints, or concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
Collaborate with the accounting or finance department to reconcile daily cash transactions and prepare reports as required.

Requirements

Competencies you must have

Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with drivers, customers, and internal teams.
Proficiency in using computer software and systems for dispatching, scheduling, cash register operations, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
Customer service-oriented with the ability to handle customer inquiries and complaints professionally.
The capability to build and develop high-performing teams.
Leadership ability to provide guidance, support, and opportunities for growth, fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture.

Experience and Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in logistics, waste management, or cashiering is a plus.
Previous experience in dispatching, logistics, waste/recycling operations, and cashiering is highly desirable.
Experience in a fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations with composure.
Cash handling experience with attention to detail and accuracy.
Knowledge of local recycling regulations, waste management practices, and industry standards.

Work Environment

Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting.
Repetitive hand motions including frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching.
Work with frequent interruptions, maintain emotional control under stress.

Background check and drug screen required.
