LaBella Associates is looking for a Water Resources Senior Engineer to join our growing Southeast Region Civil Group in Charlotte, North Carolina. The individual must be technically experienced and have a proven background of management and leadership in team environments in the evaluation, analysis, design and construction of small- to large-scale stormwater projects primarily for municipal/public clients. The ideal candidate will need to be highly energetic, self-motivated, and eager to advance their talents in a collaborative team environment.
Duties:- Exercise initiative, judgment, and decisiveness as appropriate and as required in areas of responsibility.
- Project and task level management including leading and directing staff for all phases and types of water resource projects.
- Lead and conduct hydrology and hydraulic analysis and evaluations of open channel and storm drainage systems, stream restoration and enhancement, watershed analysis, and flood studies.
- Lead and develop alternative designs for storm drainage systems including channels, pipe systems, culverts, and bridges.
- Lead and develop storm water management, water quality, erosion control plans, and permitting applications.
- Lead utility coordination and/or utility relocation design in support of water resources projects.
- Lead and prepare technical reports and memorandums, and exhibits.
- Lead and prepare design contract documents: construction plans, specifications, quantity take-offs, and estimates.
- Review all engineering analysis and construction documents for quality assurance and control and ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Lead meetings with design team, stakeholders and clients
- Coordination with other disciplines and internal Project Managers
- Assist with business development activities including client relations, marketing pursuits and project proposals.
Requirements - Bachelor's degree in civil and/or Environmental Engineering
- NC PE registration required
- 6 to 10+ years of experience related to stormwater, site civil, or transportation related projects providing hydrologic/hydraulic analysis and design.
- Experience with HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, HydroCAD, StormCAD, HY8, and other stormwater programs is essential but not required.
- Familiar and proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microstation, GIS, and other engineering software to assist in planning, design, and plan production
- Experience in performing construction administration management/inspections for stormwater and water resources restoration related projects is a plus
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Word and Excel
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Local candidates preferred
