The Work
As an Environmental Safety and Health Engineer with Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS), your role is pivotal in ensuring a safe and environmentally responsible workplace. Your responsibilities will encompass both operational and strategic aspects of the site's safety programs and the Environmental, Safety, and Health (ESH) management system. You will also play a crucial role in supporting teams across RMS.
• Provide comprehensive environmental, safety, and health services to maintain a secure and compliant workplace.
• Focus on various safety areas, including Confined Spaces, Contractor Safety, Cranes & Slings, Fall Protection, Hazard Communication, Ladder Safety, Machine Guarding, Aerial lifts, Powered Industrial Trucks, and Raised Platforms & Scaffolding.
• Represent the organization at various levels, effectively conveying the company's strategy and objectives.
• Offer leadership and team support to ESH department members.

Who You Are
• Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 9 years of professional experience; or 7 years of experience required with a related Masters degree. Considered experienced, a team mentor/lead and driver of change.
• Possess relevant certifications and training in safety and environmental management.
• Demonstrate hands-on experience in the specified areas of safety.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Collaborative and able to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
• Knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 9 years of professional experience; or 7 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree. Considered an emerging authority. ESH experience in a manufacturing setting
• Experience implementing, OSHA, safety and health standards, EPA, state and local environmental regulations and programs;
• Ability to develop new and innovative methods to increase employee awareness of, and engagement in, ESH compliance programs/initiatives promoting a strong ESH culture across RMS while taking the initiative to challenge the status quo.
• Apply ergonomic principles to improve cultural awareness of the risks associated with improper workstation design and enhance the understanding of proactive measures.
• Ability to analyze complex technical data from chemical data sheets and environmental health surveys using logic and quantitative reasoning.
• Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Skill in working independently and following through on assignments.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and be flexible.
• Ability to work effectively within a diverse population and collaborate with peers and leadership
• Minimum requirements include, but not limited to, Lifting and Carrying up to 40 lbs and Pushing/Pulling of up to 75 lbs. and working from elevated platforms such as ladders as they relate to investigations to apply root cause analysis and corrective actions.
U.S Citizenship required.
Desired skills
• Professional ESH experience in a manufacturing, test, or industrial environment
• Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA, and Environmental requirements, regulations and associated compliance programs
• ESH experience in subject areas such as industrial safety, material handling, NFPA Life Safety Code, lock-out-tag-out, and hazard recognition and other industrial safety programs
• Knowledge and experience with Hazardous Waste shipments, profile management and pertinent documentation for recordkeeping.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment
• Ability to ensure regulatory compliance with minimal direct supervision.
• Strengths in customer service and cooperative teaming, and a demonstrated capability in managing multiple projects/tasks effectively prioritizing tasks and work load, and ensuring timely closure of assignments.
• Certified Safety Professional certification (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygiene (CIH) or Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) other ESH nationally recognized certifications is a plus, yet, not specifically required

Ability to work remotely
Full-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work remotely full time at a location other than a Lockheed Martin designated office/job site. Employees may travel to a Lockheed Martin office for periodic meetings.
Work Schedule Information
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
National Pay Statement
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Maryland, Washington or Washington DC is $91,300 - $175,000. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

Premium Pay Statement
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $105,000 - $197,800. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
