In this role you will support the engineering team by performing preliminary and detailed level component and system design, development, and integration for flight as well as ground systems.
Critical aspects of this role involve coordinating with customers, suppliers, test facilities, and other related fields including manufacturing, subcontracts, quality, structure design, analysis, systems engineering, and integration with affected subsystems and facilities.
Your will be responsible for the design, manufacture, procurement and test for the propulsion system components and assemblies.
Other Responsibilities include but not limited to -
• Support Subsystem Integration
• Assist on the conceptual development, requirements definition, and design of propulsion components
• Perform trade studies to select the appropriate design solution
• Develop product performance specifications, statements of work, and supplier data requirements for components
• Maintain engineering drawings, specifications, and technical analyses to support systems and components
• Provide requirements flow-down, verification, and maintain technical baseline at the suppliers
• Ability to work on a multi-disciplined team performing structural design trades, detailed design/analysis activity and performance and maintenance assessments of operational systems.
• Support dynamic test definitions, requirements development, test monitoring, data reduction, and comparison to analysis efforts.
• Provide user documentation and recommendations to data packages to support peer and customer reviews, present analysis data to engineering teams, customer technical representatives, and Program Office personnel at technical interchange meetings and design review. Basic Qualifications
• Experience with first-order analysis in fluids, heat transfer, thermal-hydraulics
• Experience with physics-based software development, preferably MATLAB
• Understanding of propulsion engineering principles
• Desire and ability to own technical challenges through solution
• US Citizenship required
Desired skills
• Knowledge of Nuclear Engineering
• Experience with GitLab
• Experience with Linux and/or Unix
• Experience with Python
• Experience with Control Logic
• Advanced degree in engineering (nuclear/aerospace or closely related)
• Familiarity with High Performance Computing (HPC)
• Familiarity with Fluid Mechanics
• Ability to collaborate effectively with adjacent fields (systems engineering, electronics, stress/thermal analysis, configuration management, production, test, quality...)
• Excellent verbal/written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills with technical and non-technical audiences

Ability to work remotely
Full-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work remotely full time at a location other than a Lockheed Martin designated office/job site. Employees may travel to a Lockheed Martin office for periodic meetings.
Work Schedule Information
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
National Pay Statement
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Maryland, Washington or Washington DC is $73,500 - $140,900. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
Premium Pay Statement

The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $84,500 - $159,400. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
