GHD is seeking an intermediate
Engineer/Geologist/Scientist to work with our Contaminated Assessment Remediation (CAR) group as a CAR professional based out of our
Plainwell, MI office.

See what the power of commitment can do for you. Responsibilities of the position will be but are not limited to: - Provide technical and project management services to our existing and future clients on a variety of projects
- Prepare technical correspondence, project proposals, technical reports, work plans, and project specifications including cost estimates and budgets
- Data compilation, reduction, interpretation, evaluation/comparison to environmental regulatory standards
- Interact with internal and external clients, regulatory agencies, contractors and service providers
- Conduct environmental sampling and monitoring for various media and contaminants of concern by following established procedures
- Be available for occasional after-hours response to environmental emergencies to perform field tasks.
- Participate in a proactive safety culture of continuous improvement
- Client engagement approach and stewardship
- Complex problem solving as it relates to environmental remediation and economic decision making
- Balancing the triangle of scope, schedule, and budget to produce the best results possible for our clients
For Success in this position, you will possess the following skills and qualifications: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Applied Science (Engineering, Geology, or Science)
- 4-8 years' experience including a mix of field, data evaluation and interpretation and technical report writing
- Professional Designation/License (Engineer, Geologist, etc.) a plus
- Self-starter, detail oriented, and willingness to work in a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience preparing detailed regulatory work plans and reports for investigation, remediation, and closure. Experience working on CERCLA projects a plus.
- Understanding of multimedia remedial technologies for addressing a variety of contaminants including VOCs, SVOCs, metals, PCBs and PFAS.
- Working knowledge of the operation and maintenance of remediation systems, with good general mechanical aptitude
- Experience in coordinating and simultaneously managing multiple tasks while maintaining a high degree of attention to detail in a consulting environment.
- Working knowledge of methods and procedures for site characterization, hydrogeologic analysis and remediation of contaminants in soil, soil vapor, indoor air and groundwater. Experience with landfill gas monitoring a plus.
- Conduct research, collect and analyze data to prepare reports and documents
- Critical thinking and problem solving - ability to identify multiple solutions to a problem
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Positive attitude, very strong interpersonal skills
- Interested in continuing professional development
- OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER certification
- Practice and maintain solid safety minded behavior and practices.
