The Sales Manager within our Energy, Mining and Marine(EMM) business vertical will be responsible for the generation of new sales in our Enterprise segment. This is an individual contributor role primarily focused on selling to acquire new business in the EMM industry. This role will provide coordinated solutions, both online and offline, to help EMM corporations run and optimize their travel spend/investment; achieved through process and purchase savings.

What You'll Do:

The Sales Manager will grow and increase revenue through a combination of responsibilities and skills:

Proactively identify new opportunities and deliver innovative solutions that will continue to add new value and expand American Express Global Business Travel's web of influence.
Use every interaction with prospects and industry as an opportunity to build brand awareness of American Express Global Business Travel's value proposition for the EMM market specifically.
Lead sales efforts to deliver multiple revenue streams and further penetrate accounts, with a focus on driving premium revenue according to the sales strategy for EMM.
Develop an in-depth understanding of key business drivers, organizational culture, industry-specific needs and limitations.
Build and maintain relationships with internal partners and senior level client contacts to help ensure solutions are meet the industry specific needs.
Collaborate with key EMM stakeholders internally to ensure client feedback is shared with the appropriate business functions to enable Amex GBT to deliver on specific industry needs.
Research the marketplace and competitor products and services to highlight the value that distinguishes Amex GBT products, and specifically uses MI, benchmarking, and technology as critical value drivers.
Enhance our proposition through policy consultation, researching white paper needs, technology road mapping, optimizing online solutions, and event content development.

What We're Looking for:

Confidence and discipline to cold-call potential customers as well as the consultative selling skills to provide solutions to potential customers.
Relevant experience in the Energy, Oil and Gas, Offshore or Marine industry and understanding of their business.
Exceptional relationship management and consultative sales skills.
Knowledge in technology solutions and a keen ability to deliver client specific based solutions.
Ability to dig deep with prospects and clients they work with and understand their individual needs, motivations and 'hot buttons' in order to develop truly customer focused solutions.
A strong understanding of the external marketplace, industry, and in-depth knowledge of the power of the Amex GBT EMM value proposition.

Location
Texas, United States

The US national annual base salary range for this position is from $50,000 to $100,000. The national range provided includes the base salary that GBT expects to pay for the role. Actual base salary will be based on factors including the scope and complexity of the role and the successful candidate's relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and work location.

In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for an annual Performance Based Incentive, which rewards participants based on company performance, one of our metric-driven Sales Incentive Plans (certain direct sales roles only), or one of our Client Management Incentive Award (CMIA) programs. An eligible employee can only participate in one of these plans during an eligible period.
