THE OPPORTUNITYReporting to the Operations Manager, Regional Operations Manager (ROM) directs all environmental, health, safety, grain operations, maintenance, projects, and product quality control of grain within their designated region. The ROM is responsible for managing the facilities, the operations employees, and any temporary workers at each site. The ROM will also complete special projects as assigned by the Network Operations Manager.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:- Lead through Primient Values, application of company policies and observe OSHA, state, and federal safety regulations; expect high levels of equipment and facilities maintenance/reliability; hold team accountable for housekeeping standards keeping facilities neat, clean, and safe. Assist with monthly safety training classes with staff.
- Intricate knowledge of site safety equipment, policies, and procedures.
- Manage elevators and personnel to receive and ship grain in the most efficient manner possible.
- Manage regional elevator personnel to maintain facilities and product to the highest standard of quality, while improving procedures to accomplish this goal.
- Provide weekly facility work schedules for all locations.
- Manage capital improvement projects related to elevator sites.
- Setup and direct outside contractors to perform maintenance or improvement projects.
- Maintain non-conformity grain reporting procedures.
- Drive company performance and teach more efficient techniques in operations to improve performance and company profitability.
- Recruit and develop Primient employees to meet company values and behaviors, including performance management and general employment matters.
- Learn and hold self and team to a high standard of process, equipment, automation, and general site knowledge of elevator locations within region.
- Travel required to multiple sites within the region of responsibility, all centrally located. Limited overnight travel.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Management responsibilities include but not limited to managing all full-time operations employees as well as any temporary workers. ROM will be responsible for the overall facility direction, coordination of operations and evaluation of these facilities. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's values, policies, and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; proactively works to resolve conflict.
ABOUT YOUThe selected candidate will possess:- Minimum associate degree from a two-year college or technical school with preferred 5 years' experience in grain operations /maintenance or a high school degree/GED equivalent with preferred 10 years of experience in grain operations or related field.
- Working knowledge of automation technology preferred - PLC.
- Ability to multi-task, achieve outstanding results and work with urgency.
- Ability to technically analyse and solve problems.
- Demonstrated supervisory and leadership skills.
- Electrical & mechanical knowledge and hands on skills
- Ability to read blueprints, piping & instrumentation diagrams, equipment and electrical schematics.
Other key skills:Strong communications skills with professional background to present various topics to multiple levels within the organization.
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Strong Business Acumen
- Strong working knowledge with Microsoft Office products, and ability to learn and function in SAP, AGRIS/Grainsmart, and other T&L-specific computer programs.
- Must be willing and able to regularly stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, taste, and smell. The employee must be able to lift and /or move up to 50 pounds, climb ladders and stairs to perform work and inspections at relatively high elevations in an exterior work environment.
