This position delivers SD Game, Fish and Parks private lands habitat programs in Butte, Harding, and Perkins Counties. The incumbent will work with private landonwners to increase wildlife habitat on private lands, as well as administer the Walk-In Area and other public access programs in the state. This position will require an outgoing attitude, a desire to work with private landowners and a working knowledge of ranching systems in western South Dakota.
Job responsibilities will require a flexible work schedule with many hours working out of the office.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:- a working knowledge and experience with grassland ecosystems;
- experience with ranching and farming operations;
- a demonstrated history of implementing state and federally run private land habitat programs;
- accomplish work tasks both independently and as a member of a work team;
- independently arrange work schedules to accomplish tasks in variety of areas of responsibility;
- must have strong verbal skills and the ability to work well and interact with other wildlife professionals and the public.
